The ‘DHL box challenge (No 4, medium)’ video, made by James May and featuring Jeremy Clarkson, has gathered more fans than new Top Gear

Top Gear with Chris Evans behind the wheel has struggled to gather the same feverish, whooping fanbase as the show’s previous presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

For the first episode at least, the reviews were almost unanimously terrible and calls for a return of the original line-up – or an Amazon Prime subscription – were rife.

More evidence, if it were needed, that the new presenters have a mountain to climb in terms of audience appreciation comes courtesy of this short video, uploaded by James May. It shows Jeremy Clarkson assembling a DHL flat-pack box (No 4 medium, apparently) and appears on the former presenter’s YouTube channel, JM’s unemployment tube.
