Police are warning about so-called “frost-jacking” car thieves after Gwnet police received reports of several cars being stolen in a matter of minutes.
Drivers have been warned they risk being victims of theft if they defrost windscreens by turning engines on and going back into their homes.
Gwent Police said on Twitter that in one half-hour spell on Wednesday morning they received “a number of reports of cars being stolen” in the force area while owners left engines running to help defrost windows.
Gwent Police have warned people not to leave cars unattended whilst defrosting them.
